I have been meaning to publish this post for a while now as I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea on 12th December 2011. I have been feeling ill and run down for about 3 years now, and it has been getting progressively worse, and to be diagnosed has proven to be a mixed blessing – great to get a diagnosis, but then the waiting list of approx. 5 months for treatment is frustrating.
My own personal symptoms are chronic fatigue with associated muscle pain. As we have a 19 month old toddler with unlimited energy, this has caused our family a great deal of trouble. Diagnosis was a long drawn out affair, and enough has been said on the NHS problems we all experience so I won’t dwell on them any further. All I will say is that once the hospital was on the right track, my treatment by them has been excellent. Now that my diagnosis has been confirmed I am looking forward to getting some of my life back, not feeling exhausted 100% of the time, and actually wanting to get out of bed in the morning!
Without the support from my family, this journey would have been far, far harder, I’d like to take this chance to thank you all for sticking by me, through the good and bad times!

5 months is quite a long time these days to wait for treatment, although it was longer a few years back. Now you’re on your treatment, hope you’ll soon feel healthier and more engergized
Good Luck!

I’ve got my CPAP machine, complete with humidifier…we shall see how it goes. The nurse explained the short time to me receiving the machine, instead of the expected 5 month delay by saying they felt I deserved it…lol
LOL. Well, at least you got a humidifier – a lot of people have to beg for one
